If you live in Georgia is isn't really necessary. Ventilation in the winter is more important that sealing it up. Sealing it up will cause moisture build up which in turn will cause frost bite. The whole top of my coop is open and the tunnel door stays open with no issues at all.thats where I found this one. I plan on making a few changes to it like have plexi glass in front of the windows for the winter but they will slide to the side for summer
