I have some modern chainsaws, but my favorite is a vintage original poulan, it runs like a champ. Not for deforestation, only 16“ inch. I bought a newer model poulan and it was a pos. It looks like this.

I have a 1970 Homelight I still use. It's my backup since I bought a Stihl. I've used Stihl a long time too. I hear the Husky is a good one as well.

Husky all day. Don't use mine often anymore but it starts right up when I do break it out and has never gave me an issue. Over 10 years now, just cleared the new property with it.

Old Stihl and a refurbed Echo. Both from pawn shops.

The first one I ever bought was a Poulan from Lowes or maybe even HomeMax when that was still around. It was just adequate for my first home. When it finally gave up the ghost and I took it to see if it was repairable the guy asked me how old it was:

"About 12 years," I replied.

He was actually astonished that the thing survived that long, said it should've died at 5-7 years.
