I run students through the Dot Torture in my Competency-based Handgun class. I also modified the drills for the carbine and use it during my Competency-based Carbine class.

I think 7 yards? Maybe 5.
Going by memory here. It was a year ago, at CMshoot's pistol and tactical carbine competency course.

I used my full size pistol. Springer XD9 with 5" bbl.
