Beware the man with one gun...

Oh and on a side note I am opposite of you guys, I love revolvers too, but I can't shoot them well at all unless they're little J frames, anything bigger is hard for me to shoot.

I'm the same way. Although I had a 8 3/8" 686 that I could drive nails with. Every other revolver I have had I can't hit s*** with, but I still love them for some strange reason.

Scout Rifle - For backup, larger game hunting, and SHTF. I'd modify it from Jeff Cooper's design but I like idea of a simple bolt action, do everything, rifle. I'd consider a lever action also.

YES! I haven't even thought of that. The Ruger Gunsite Scout Rifle would be just about ideal. Simplicity and reliability of BA, power and range of a .308, lightweight and compact for any type of "battle," and relatively inexpensive at sub-$700. Definitely something to ponder there.

G19 on my person 24/7
AK on hand (SAR-1) if that matters
Short shotgun (if the law is out the window). Makes it lighter and easier to pack
Finally a .22 single action

The reason I don't say .22 rifle is simply the weight. In the scenario I'd assume traveling on foot becomes a regular day to day routine. You can easily carry this package (as well as many other great lists already mentioned) but for how long? Ammo and mags for the AK are gonna add plenty of heft. And other supply's for camping/survival whatever is going on.
I just think the .22 could be used for small game, but I've shot plenty of squirrell with my rough rider. So I think it'd be more than enough to drop decent small game, unless its healing tail away from you. But in any case, the AK on a sling, G19 on the hip. Shotty and .22 revolver in the pack, but easy to access.

In the past year I have gone from 15+ guns to 7. I did some multi-gun trades plus cash to cull down my quantity and increase the quality, while consolidating calibers.

I have a S&W 686, Ruger LCR 357, Glock 30sf, Colt Commander. M1a Standard, Ruger 556 and a Kriss Vector. It's a good thing I'm a 225lb gym rat and former College wrestler cuz I can't hit the side of the barn with any of them. Unless I throw the gun. I'm pretty strong. I absolutely hate these 25 yard indoor ranges. And that's all there is around Alpharetta.

I'd like to get a quality 22 bolt, and I'm toying with an AK. But what for? Ha! Because guns are so darn cool.

IMO, there are the folks that want many guns just because they are cool, they like to brag about how many they own or they make money reselling them. Then there are the guys that only own guns as tools and have basic needs to fill and having a bunch of guns is a draw back. I would rather have 4-5 basic quality guns and have a lot of ammo than have a bunch of guns and a little ammo for each. I have never been one to go do mag dumps just to hear the noise, I practice with my guns as I would use them. I have a couple of .22 pistols and a revolver, a .22 rifle and a .22 WMR rifle. I have a 12 gauge Defender for home and a 20 gauge pump for hunting. Until my Dad passed away, I had 2 big game rifles with plenty of ammo, a .270 and a 7x57. My Dad left me his 30-06 and I now have a bunch of ammo for it in many options depending on it's planned use. I personally don't believe in the Zombie hoards rationale nor do I believe in being involved in a firefight as a civilian and surviving. Too each their own as far as their perception of "going down in a blaze of glory" or being a one man militia. My idea of owning a few good guns and having a lot of ammo is because I think the Government will hinder ammo rather than try to take our guns directly.

By having fewer guns, you can get more familiar with each and learn to better utilize it's full potential. Unless you are wealthy, you inhibit the ability to keep enough ammo on hand to make your guns useful for a long time. Having a lot of money tied up in guns decreases the amount of ammo and accessories you might be able to have for each gun. There is nothing wrong about having a lot of guns, it just depends on an individuals needs/wants and their purpose for or against. Example is some people buy, sell, trade because they enjoy it, others stockpile for the end of the world and others because they hunt/ target shoot only. No one reason is more valid than the other, they are just different.

I plan more for survival then outright fire fights. With that in mind a good Marlin 336 or bolt action in 308(more plentiful then 30-06) would both serve my purpose. I'd give an edge to the 336 due to the fact that you can keep it on target better while cycling the action then the BA, but the 308 has an edge in accuracy with a much flatter trajectory.

But when it comes down to it, I'd never sell down to four...just practice with my chosen four more then the others!

My stand-bys are:

Glock 27 - every day carry
870 12ga 21" Remchoke barrel - use it for hunting everything; birds, deer, hogs, etc.
Marlin 60 - just 'cuz

Everything else is just for fun.
