OUCH

You’ve got to have a place for every bit of the water to flow, away from the foundations. If you hire someone that just eyeballs it and throws down plastic and pavers level without a drainage plan you might end up with a nasty puddle. And or a wet basement.

You want at least 1/8” per foot of fall across the pavers. That’s 1/2” on a four foot level.

Take your time getting the grading worked out to drain before you throw down pavers. You can learn a lot by studying the area during a downpour.

I’ve actually been watching the rain last week

Probably a duplicate post, but the nails will probably be ribbed (for your pleasure) and tough to extract. So use a crowbar with a 2x4 as a fulcrum when you pry up the boards. It's not easy, but it isn't too bad.
Back in the day when Id use those ribbed ones, I was so selfish that Id turn them inside out.
