BUC-EE’S - A Story of a Hard-worker American!

Don't know his situation, but sometimes the expressway comes to you.
Had a friend who many years ago I85 cut his farm in half, went right through the middle.
Another win for eminent domain over a generational family property.

I agree 100% on this. Happend to family when 400 moved north.

But he said it has doubled in the 5 years since the previous owner, so that's not the case.

I miss when they were only in Texas. Having a Buc-ee's shirt was unique. Or stocking up on Beaver Nuggets. You held on to them and weighed whether or not you wanted another handful because you were only going to get them when you went back to Texas...and who knew how long that would be? Kind of like regional cuisine. I miss only eating shrimp and grits when I went home to visit. Now every schumuck in the metro area can have them whenever they want.

Also, not sure where OP got his info from, but it's all kinds of incorrect. Buccee's was started by a man named Arch Aplin. Not "Beaver Bam." If memory serves, Mr. Aplin's nickname was "Beaver," though. Also, he was white. Also the pic in the OP is AI. Anyhow...

walks away making old man noises.

Wait? Are you saying this whole story and even the picture is fake? How dare you!

He even Credited the author at the bottom of the post so you can see for yourself this is real!

Still trying to figure out a legitimate purpose to eminent domain. To me, if you own the land outright, it is yours, and if the government wants it, they can either pay whatever you want and if they refuse to, they can move on.
