bullet hits my tree

Since we are kicking dust at each other and I want to join in.
Not bullet speed and sound related. Safety only.

I've got a question ? Why didnt you sit on the ground.
The safety harness thing had me. If I had a kid which I dont and I left a safety harness at home. We'd both be sitting on the ground regardless if the deer could see us or not. Safety got throw out the window from the get go. I'll be a Richard this time but you said the tree's are 2 feet apart but are one tree which I totally get it split at the bottom. But how did the kid get into the tree without a safety harness on is my question.
I guess I'm the only who wears one going up and down a tree which is actually the most dangerous time.

2 people 1 safety harness. If he wore it up he would have had to take it off so you could wear it. Then you tied him in.

I'm a Richard. I said it. But safety is safety.

What the heck, I'll answer you too.

The two lock on stands have about 5" between the two platforms. One of the stands has a large platform with a seat, armrests and a shooting rail (that's the one my kids like to hunt from because of the shooting rail). The stand that I like is an older one from BassPro that has a frame with a padded sling to sit in. You do not stand up to shoot from the stand and their is no rifle rest. When you're sitting in "my" stand it is impossible to roll out of to the left or right because of the frame that runs right under your armpits, the only way out of the stand is from the front.
With a strap across the waist running across the frame there is no way to fall out of the stand.

When climbing the ladder there is no harness in use. Usually they have the harness on and I hook them to the tree after I get them sat down. The kids go first and I follow close enough that I have to reach around them to hold on to the ladder on that particular stand because it's over 20'. On the low two man ladder stands they just head up the same type of ladder on their own. I have not ran a belay line for the climbing of ladders as of yet, I guess that makes me a bad dad and if that's the worst I can live with that.

Glad you got to post one more time there swampdick, you still have the invite for lunch to discuss things.
