Caliper selection

Watch this video and then tell me if you spent more than $10-$20, you wasted your money. Unless you want to replace batteries nearly every time, it's hard to know if you're getting a truly accurate reading.

Throw the digital away! Sometimes technology really does suck! Get you some Starrett dial calipers. If that's too pricey for you, I recommend RCBS. I've used all kinds and rcbs seems to be the most consistent of the cheaper calipers. Hornady is junk, junk, junk! Both digital and manual.

Never had this isse with Harbor Freight calipers. They dont keep power on the scale, so you have to zero them when you turn them on.

Given they dont hold quite the tolerance of a Mitutoyo, Starret or Brown and Sharpe, but mine have walways been within a thousandth of an inch. Good enough for me.
