Can a snake climb a tree?

Haven't had that happen yet.
I'll bet the first time it was a big surprise!

Meant bird house. First time was when we were all sitting at the table eating lunch and I looked out the window to see something stick it's head out and then back in. I went out to see what it was and saw the forked tongue come out. He was about 4 to 5 feet when he came out. This has happened 5 times that I have caught. They are either after birds, eggs or flying squirrels.

My question is how the hell does a snake know what is WAY up high in a tree to eat???

The same way migratory birds know north and south, natural instincts.

Ive seen it a time or two pretty cool.

What is also cool to see is if you ever have a chance to watch a hawks nest. We had one in the yard a couple years ago. It was a daily event for us to go out and see what they would bring the chick which was often snakes. Hawks nest high up. Watching one fly with a 2 to 3 foot snake up to the nest and then watch the fiasco in the nest thru some bino's was quite the entertainment. Our large resident water snake disappeared that spring.....

I've bumped my head, fell on my tail and turned and smacked right into a tree, lol.
(I still jump pretty good for an old guy!)
