Can anyone ID or provide any information about this gun I acquired through an inheritance? Thank you.

This is what it should look like-

It started life as a Commonwealth (Canadian) Longbranch No4 Mk1. In military configuration it's a $450 - $650 rifle depending upon condition. The guys here who say $250 are being generous. It's supposed to have a MKIII rear sight but that seems to be missing. The buttstock probably was original until someone went to whittlin' on it. In any case, it's a "deer raffle" now and too expensive to put right.

Yep, for kicks and giggles I checked - If you could find a complete stock set you are looking at $300-600 just for the wood. The other missing or non-standard parts, you'd probably in it a grand to try to get it back to its original state. I picked one up a while back with a sporter stock figuring I'd just be using some of the parts but the stock on it was a newer laminate and actually pretty well done so I decided to keep it just as a shooter grade.
