I figured I would see if anyone knew.

Say I am outside of city limits, on a land I cannot identify as being owned by anyone. No homes or roads for a mile at least, and I have a solid backstop behind my targets. Can I shoot there? And if an officer did find me out there, would I be in serious trouble?

I have found ammo boxes back here, so I guess other people have done the same, and would love to shoot without any fear of repercussion and for free.

All land belongs to someone buddy
This, the land will belong to someone. You cannot enter onto another's property, without their permission. You also, cannot shoot firearms on the property of another (without having that legal permission in writing on you, if the lawful owner is not with you). Doing it and not getting caught is a different story.
