Can you please tell me what I have and info

Caliber.308 I think

I am not quite sure what I have. I was told it is a .308 caliber. I have an idea what it is but I honestly have never owned a military rifle other than an SKS. I would love to know what it is and a fair value and sale price as I am interested in selling it. I can verify that the serial numbers in several places all match. Any help would be greatly appreciated on gun info and fair values. Thanks in advance.

Mauser action, but could be several different caliber. Can you post a pic of the receiver just forward of the bolt?

It looks like one of the 1916 Mauser military rifles converted to the NATO 7.62X51 cartridge. Maybe $200.00.

Look for very small import stamping somewhere, should say the caliber and what it is.

^^ This, and if you can't find it, have the chamber cast so you will know for sure.

Going out to look now. I am fairly sure it is a .308 but that is all I know.

Ah ha (sort of) I did some more looking and found this on the end of the barrel on the underside.

You got it figured out. Good shooters and should last forever. Yours was probably imported by a company named SAMCO also.
