Chime in! If you had $1000.00 or so which .45 ACP semi auto would you buy?

For carry, I like the XDs. Can't wait to see them in .40 and 9mm. For home defense and showing, I have a Sig P220 Dark Elite that I'll never sell. Shoots better than I do. I've now got the bug for a shooter to keep in the truck (not what's generally known as a "truck gun". That conjures up a beater.) Anyway, I've been looking for an XD 45 with the thumb safety for months. I saw one on here but I'm a little light in the purse. The thumb safety models are getting real scarce and the XD is just a great shooter. If it's still here, I'm jumping on it after I raise a little more cash.

Go with the P220, you will love it.

H&K USP .45. They are not pretty but have military grade reliability and are very accurate as well. I have a Sig 220 combat .45 and while it is reliable, it is not nearly as accurate as the H&K.

HK 45 or HK 45C. Both are awesome, and you may be able to find one for about $1k if you look around. If not, the HK USP 45 is awesome as well.

HK's are like really beefy German tanks. If you want a beautiful gun that's as great, get a Sig P220R.

I sold an HK USP just because of the grip size. I loved to shoot that gun at the range and it was extremely accurate. Im going to pick up an HK 45 at some point. As of righ now I'm torn between a commander sized 1911 and the P220. Almost bought a 220 yesterday but still thinking about it.

That's what I was looking at. There is one listed here for $850 and a LGS has the P220's for $799.00 new. I may just flip a coin.
