Cilantro - love it or hate it

I am a big fan we are having homemade street tacos tonight and there will be plenty of cilantro. And cold beer of course!!

I hate that s*** with a passion. It has caused me to give up Mexican food since they now put it in everything. It's also showing up in Indian food too. It must be hereditary since one of my sons dislikes it almost as much as me.

You go into a Mexican restaurant and ask if they can leave off the cilantro and they hear "extra cilantro please".

I love it, I thought everyone did until this thread. first I've ever heard of someone saying it taste like soap. My Mom grows it fresh in her herb garden.

I don't care too much to eat it.
But I do enjoy smoking it every now and then.

Interesting read. I'd never heard of anyone thinking it tasted like soap. I guess I'm one of those people not bothered by it. I like it, but I dont know that I'd go as far as saying I love it. Ginger, on the other hand, has a very strong chemical taste to me.

I like it as a garnish only. Too much and it overpowers the dish...

Hate it.. I have a very open palate and truly hate the stuff... the exception being when it is finely chopped in small amounts in a pico de gallo. In leafy salad like portions no way...
