Classic "Idiot Mark" porn . . . . (real men post their oopsies)

C'mon guys, you all know we've done it. In trying to modify, customize, improve, upgrade, restore, and/or personalize, things have not always gone according to plan. We've "left our mark" if you will.

In keeping with the other classic "porn" threads here, I thought I would be the first to throw out mine. What's the worst "idiot mark" you have left behind. Post it for all to see . . .

Here's mine (don't ask what I was trying to do, OK go ahead and ask) . . . .

What on earth... how?

Not quite on topic, but back in 82 I picked up a spanking new, (only new vehicle I've ever owned), Z650. Rode over to a friends to show it off. Pulled up, put the sidestand down right over a pothole in the road. Bike goes over in front of everyone; broken clutch lever and ripped up ignition cover. What a d**k.

Parts dept guys were killing themselves laughing the next day.

Oh wait not that kind of whoopsie. LOL

(clears throat)... really? I think further explanation is warranted on this one!

Was outside shooting several .22 pistols. One was a Colt Ace that was finicky with some ammo. Had a jam. Cleared it so I thought. Laid it down and started shooting another. Picked up Ace and was walking down to basement to put up pistols. Notice hammer was back on Ace. Dropped the hammer and you would not believe how loud a .22lr is in a stairwell. Safe was at bottom of stairwell against wall. Nice little dimple bottom left corner of safe.

I was trying to fit an extended slide release and thought the aperture cut out was too low. Instead of filling down the slide stop, I took the Dremel tool to the slide. I forgot they are hardened, put a little too much pressure into it, and slip . . .

Bothered me so much I traded that one away. That was my second mistake with that RIA. It was a 10mm. Should have kept it.
