I’m particular about closing my ejection port cover when I’m done shooting, loading, unloading, etc.

I get asked by students why I do this, fairly regularly.

I had these made recently.

Yep, get 1 grain of sand in there and it quits. Been there done that. It's second nature for me to close the dust cover .
 
At fighting Rifle an instructor would sneak up and hold your epc closed to induce a malf. Love those guys!

I do that during the carbine courses I teach. I made a coated, flat stick just for this. One of my Instructors calls it the Malfunction Inducing Device……….I just call it the FU Stick.

Your name for it fits better. I know those are the first two words that come to mind when I see it appear over my shoulder.
