drew a bull tag for first rifle season. I guess Colorado couldn't turn down the out of state money! I wish they would go back to either sex tags. Tag sandwiches aren't very tasty!

We are doing self guide hunt on public land GU 12. The group that I'm going with have been going since 1980. They have all the gear, tents stoves etc. we rent crazy a$$ horses from sombrero stables. We pay a rancher a trespassing fee to get to the back of the public land. It's a fun trip but it's a lot of work.

Hope you do well! First season the snow doesn't normally fall yet..Which means the Elk stay high, after the first snow they start to come down..I miss hunting out west..Much Luck to you!

Colorado is a beautiful state. Used to Bow hunt late 70's early 80's in the San Juan Forest every year for two weeks.
