Now, if the OP hadn't notice the pitting, or noticed but didn't care, and then shot the gun only 100 rounds over the next 5 years and then went to sell it, and the prospective buyer looked at the muzzle and said "You liar! There's no way this gun has seen only 100 rounds down the pipe in the last 5 years! Was this a range rental gun at the local shooting range or something?" wouldn't we all be on the side of the angry buyer, and all agree that Colt COULDN'T have made such a gun that would look so bad with so little use? (I would. But I'd have been wrong.)
