Colts bad QC

There are 2 lands noticeably lower than the other 4. I managed to get an obvious pic. Of one.

The original issue with the pitting and such was definitely a problem, but it sounds like Colt made it right.

Also, I'm sure FedEx did have instructions to get a signature, but they don't do that these days. They just hand it to an adult. Same for UPS and USPS. I'll bet that if no one was home they would have left a tag on your door, not the gun. And honestly, why would the FedEx driver even know it was a gun?

As for the replacement, slightly uneven lands are hardly an issue on what is a mid-range revolver these days. Look at any Smith or Ruger in that price range and you'll see manufacturing shortcuts. Revolvers are really, really expensive to make compared to polymer guns and no company makes them to 100% perfect these days for $900.

I just got my new Python out to the range and honestly, if you want the kind of fit and finish on a revolver that the OP is looking for, that's the price range you will be in. Python, Smith Pro or Ruger Pro Shop guns... All well over $1500.

Or a model 19,66,27,28...etc

I don't know why anyone would have expected colt to make a quality revolver. Every company makes crap these days.

I won't go that far. Even the OP example is hardly a huge issue. If you want a 'perfect' revolver, fine... Get a Korth. Just be prepared for the $4,000 price tag. For $900 the King Cobra the OP ended up with is as good as you will get from any modern company.

You do pay for the Colt name, but that's part of the pricetag. You pay for the 'Glock' name as well, which is why companies like Canick exist.

You can buy a Taurus equivalent to the King Cobra for 1/2 the money. Are you saying it's the same quality? I sure wouldn't.

Yep. If you want a Beretta made with good QC then get either the Wilson Combat or the Langdon Tactical. Both are made by Beretta, but they both also go through WC and LT quality control before being sold.

Internally...yes....yes they are equal quality. That's what happens when MIM parts are made in the same factory.

Seems like ( at least for now ) a $300 G3 Taurus is a better Value than a $600 Glock. The TX22 is also destroying the G44 in review ratings. Glock milked the cow dry and needs to stop relying on 3rd party companies to make its product better.
