Precision Applications, LLC will be holding a Combat Carbine Course in Aragon GA on Saturday, March 24, 2018.

The class will start at 0800hrs and run until approximately 1700hrs, with a 1 hour break for lunch.

Warmups will include some quick diagnoses of any problems you may have with your fundamentals. After warmups we will move straight into the meat of the course.

Topics covered will include, but may not be limited to:
Reloads
Transitions to secondary weapons
Malfunctions
Shooting while moving
Use of cover, to include over, under and both sides of cover. We will also cover special circumstances, like over or under extremely low cover. This could be over a street curb, or under a parked vehicle.

If time permits, we will shoot the Tactical Carbine Course for score. If you pass, you will be awarded a Challenge Coin.

Gear list:
Carbine with sling
Handgun with holster, minimum 1 spare mag on your person
600 rounds for the carbine
100 rounds for the handgun
Minimum of 2 carbine magazines on your person for reloads. I recommend at least 8 magazines total for the course.
Eye and ear protection
Hat with a front brim
Plenty of water

Your particular gear is up to you; warbelts, vests, suspenders, etc. Body armor and/or helmets are welcome if you choose to wear them, as are suppressors. Your carbine needs to be sighted in and ready to go, we will not be zeroing.

Dress appropriately for the weather, whatever it will be. Comfortable attire and shoes/boots are a must. Bring plenty of water.

The course is limited to 20 students. Course fee is $200 paid in advance. We accept checks, money orders, cash and discrete PayPal (you pay the 3.5% fees). Your spot is not guaranteed until your course fee is received.

Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

I travel a ton for work, but I've got this marked as a course of interest.

I know that in a combat/defense environment, things cannot be known, however, do you recommend a certain range zero for these Carbine courses?

You can use whatever zero you want to use, as long as you know your hold-offs for different ranges. For instance, I run a 100yd zero and hold dead on all the way down to around 25 yards. As I get closer, I have to gradually hold-off higher and higher, culminating in a full hold over of approximately 2.6” at 7 yards.

Issue #35 of RECOIL magazine (on the stands now) has a good article on figuring out what zero to use. I have ready access to a range with 400yd capabilities, so if anyone needs to get zeroed before the class, just let me know.

There has been a huge response to this class so far. I am limiting attendance to 20 students, and your slot is not guaranteed until you have paid for it, so don’t dilly dally.
