Confused, I had a handgun shipped from Bud's to a local FFL dealer and he telling me

it will take 7 days after I sign the paperwork before he can transfer the firearm to me? Although rifles he can do instantly. Is this a new law? I currently hold a CCW in GA and never had a problem getting a firearm without waiting 7 days

I haven't run into this, although its been a few years since I had a similar transaction. I picked up the pistol from my local FFL within a few hours of its arrival. Did all the paperwork on the spot. Did it during my lunch break...

Who's the FFL? I haven't seen waiting periods since the early 90's.

I am not to the point where I want to give his name out. But now he claims it applies to multiple pistols. He is only transferring one. He transferred one to me about 5 months ago. Does this matter???

Iv done many multiple handguns forms this year and no waiting period for me........thats BS hes giving you. Bet hes charging you a "background search or NICS" fee as well.........

No.. we can transfer that pistol any time.


There needs to be one week between pistol transfers. Example I transfer one to you on 2/4/14 (fill out 4473)...the next pistol can be transfered in 7 days new 4473 filled out.


There is no time limit for rifles.
