Friend from out of state has a coyote problem. Lives in a neighborhood, neighbors are fine with him getting rid of them. Any shooting would be close range (sub 40 yards and more than likely 15-20 yards). Obviously he would be cognizant of backstop but he’s got video of them on his basketball court and one was snooping around when his daughter took the dog out before bed last week.
I was thinking a good 22lr with appropriate bullet should get the job done or thought to lend him one of my 22 Hornets. But those that have shot Coyote will a good 22lr do the job at close range? Head shot only? Any subsonic ammo that would work or HV stuff only?
Or go with 22 mag/17hmr? Or I had been thinking quiet and a 300 blackout with heavy subs (maker bullets)?
