Well, I take people at their word. I haven't looked to see if his truck crashed and was burned alive just yet.
You need to ask them if they’re a Democrat and if so, you count every penny.

Had a bike for sale years ago $1500 if I remember right.
Guy calls, says cash in hand, wants to buy.
So he shows up, test rides the bike (we made sure the guy who brought him stayed in the driveway).
Comes back, says deal and hands me $1400 and says "we good?".
I said, "sure, soon as you hand over the other hundred". He reached in his shirt pocket and handed me the rest. A-hole.

It wouldn't surprise me if they pulled this stunt before, and if it worked once, it'll work again. I really doubt you're the only guy that wouldn't count a stack of hundreds when you try to sell something.
