Current sapelo island hunt first day.

Two more deer taken tonight... One by the same guy that got one this morning.
One spike had a very big body like an inland deer.
No hogs yet but seems like the deer population is hurting this time according to my buddy that was here two years ago.
He said most everyone shot their quota that time.

Still slow.
Dude shot a 101# 6 point this morning.
101# before dressed.

Not too bad size deer.

11 is a good spot.Biggest deer I ever saw on Sapelo was taken on 11.#1 all the way to the back and off in the holler was always good for hogs.Looks like the GW's have killed out the hogs if ya'll aint seeing them.Shot our deer in the middle of the day down there,go out when the trailers left to pick up and hunt til dark.Deer get keen to what is going on.Never saw a snake there when they had lots of hogs.

Got totally skunked as did many others.
Wildlife biologist said that tides , bright moon and plenty of acorns are affecting their movement and they don't have to go far for food as the acorns are dropping like mad.
