Dad wants a 4 wheeler

Dad wants a 4 wheeler of his own to use hunting this year. He had wanted one for a while now but since he got his inheritance he has the money to buy one.

Here are the parameters he is looking for. Must be 4x4, must be EFI (we hunt in Mainein late November), wants to keep it around 3 grand for a clean used one. Doesn't want a basket case that he has to sink money into and doesn't want something that is abused and beat up.

Any thoughts? Any place to go look at a bunch at one time. He is looking to purchase within the next couple weeks.

B.A. $3k is a bit on the low side for a 4x4 EFI. Maybe an older 500 Polaris but what the EFI it could turn into a fixer upper. I hate to buy new but the used ATV market is full of over priced, swamped, beatup crap. I avoid Craigslist maybe go to ATVTRADERONLINE.com

Check out a 2008-newer Honda Rancher 420. You might be able to wrangle one up for around that price. My buddy has a 2008 and its does everything my Grizzly 660 does.

We found one, 05 Polaris Sportsman 400 from right here on the ODT. Wasn't efi....but it was what he was willing to pay.
