I got my Christmas present a few days early...

Got some pretty beans soaking overnight to try it out tomorrow...

Jacob's Cattle beans I believe.....
and look at that bean pot!!! EXCELLENT!!!

I had to look, they were Jacob's Cattle beans as you said...

I wasn't sure how I was gonna have em, but I had some rice cooked so I had beans and rice, a little of the broth over the top and a pinch of salt. Man it was good. Had I known, I would have fried up some Conecuh to go with!

I soaked the beans overnight and the whole bag only took about 1.5 hours to cook. I'm impressed.

It's kinda fun to watch the patina start taking shape as well, even though some of it was from a boil over when I wasn't watching lol...

Speaking of Conecuh. I have some crescent rolls in the fridge. Tomorrow morning I'm doing Conecuh pig in blankets for everyone to munch on while we open gifts. I have some regular for the kids and some hot and spicy for the adults.
