Daily Dinner thread?

Tonight will be pork chops, gravy, mashed potatoes and green beans. Last night was red beans and rice

I made some red beans and rice the other day, it was a bag of Pictsweet. I didn't even know they made red beans and rice. It was good. Different than all the others.

Wife made a big pot of chili today

Not sure who can appreciate this or even knows what it is, but i made homemade ochazuke tonight with pickled plums for the sour and salty, seared marinated tuna for the savory. Broth was green tea with some soy sauce based broth added in for some umami. Crushed rice crackers for the crunch.

More labor intensive than I was figuring but I ain't mad at it.

Looks fantastic. I've been wanting some Chankonbabe but it's really too much time and effort just to cook for myself and theres no chanko restaurants nearby so that craving goes unanswered.
This looks like way more work than that.

Looks fantastic. I've been wanting some Chankonbabe but it's really too much time and effort just to cook for myself and theres no chanko restaurants nearby so that craving goes unanswered.
This looks like way more work than that.

And now I have to google...

How's the texture on that? Most of my attempts to cook the two together have always turned out poorly because of the starch in the rice.

Went to Booties fish house in Royston ! Fish, shrimp, country ham, fries, fried okra, slaw, and apple cobbler! Mighty fine!
