I had an extra turkey in the freezer that I needed to cook. I used my Big Easy oil-less fryer and cooked a bird. I gave a bunch to my sister but I still had leftover meat. Turkey pot pie it is. I’ll be eating one of them and freezing the other.

It does a great job. A few points. Turkeys can't be more that about 15 pounds. The basket is limited in size. You need to leave the top off if possible until about halfway through cooking. Otherwise you can overcrisp the skin. You should brine your turkey or put butter under the skin to help keep it moist. There's a drip pan for it. I would recommend a piece of cardboard or something underneath in case the pan overflows. It happened to me and I have a reminder of it on my deck. It really does a great job on a bird. The only real negatives for me is the size limit and that you can't stuff the bird. Other than that it's a great way to cook and pretty darn easy. I have a turkey fryer but I've never used it because of the cost of oil, the mess, and the clean up. And honestly, a roasted bird tastes better in my opinion. I'm going to try a prime rib roast one day. It looks like it would be a great way to cook it.Hey fuelman1,
how do you like the Big Easy anything you can tell me or give a tip
I got 1 but have not assembled it yet, wife saw it and had to have it for Thanksgiving Day Turkey
I though Woo-Hoo no more hot boiling oil

A 15 lb bird will take about 2 1/2 hours or so. And don't forget to oil your bird.thank you very much
I guess it will take me some time to understand the mesh lid
15# is what we got along with a Honey Baked Ham we will have plenty
wife is happy not having to get up at 4am to start the Bird
I'm going to do the seasoning to the inner cooking pot today
and thanks about the catch pan overflow, good to know I can put something flammable under it
for those that don't know here it is and on $ale at Academy for $99
