I learned a long time ago not to accept the first offer from the insurance company. They want to pay you the least that they can. It is their job. Be nice but firm. Good luck.

Hmm, not sure this always applies. State Farm told me "we will pay to get your car back to factory condition, and use OEM parts, you can take it anywhere, and we will send you a diminished value check".

Not sure what else I could have asked for?

Okay, got the cars to the body shop of my choosing, got two rentals (provided by insurance), and got the first check already from the adjuster for the tree and shed the cars were under. I have American Family Insurance and so far, they've been a pleasure to deal with.

Body shop says the Jeep is probably toast, they're definitely going to push for it.
