DD backing out of NRA event after Uvalde

No dog in this fight but I am going play a little devils advocate (and I know absolutely nothing about the reasons why they pulled out):
Considering the circumstances, its possible they made the call based solely on the safety of their employees attending the show.

Agreed. And you know that every bottom-feeding reporter in the country would try to do a story with their booth in the background. Total chaos….

Given the content of Daniel Defenses past marketing campaigns and the fact that Remington settled with the Sandy Hook families for 73 million after being sued over the advertising for the Sandy Hook shooters Bushmaster rifle, I would think laying low and putting out a message along the lines of "We believe this week is not the appropriate time to be promoting our products in Texas at the NRA meeting" would be a prudent move. Not that I think it will help them as I feel sure there is a small army of lawyers about to come after the company.
Agreed. And the amount that remington settled for is pittance compared to what they paid in defense costs.

This will bankrupt DD, and I think they know it. The lawsuits are going come after them hard of 2 reasons.

1. If they finance the rifles to him, which to us means absolutely nothing considering it you could simply swipe a credit in its place. The lawyers will point out that the 18 yo kid would have been able to afford this otherwise.

2. DD sells directly to the people(through FFLS). The lawyers will argue that the FFL may have been able to stop the purchase, if the kid had to buy from their stock. The kid may have given the FFL concern if he would had spent more time purchasing it in store.

What will come of this? I’m thinking UBCs are coming for feel good legislation…..maybe stopping direct firearm purchases. If you want a PSA rifle, you will have to get a FFL dealer to order it, increasing the price.

It's a no win situation for them. Not a fan of Marty anyways after the red flag law support fiasco.

But still can't really blame them for pulling out considering the NRA convention is actually in Texas. Probably a smart move to stay in GA and work on damage control.
