I just bought some older ammo from a member here (great guy, smooth transaction - just wish it wasn't pouring rain so I could get to know him a little better!) Some of it I will use to break in my newest rifle...the other stuff may well get disassembled as I am not sure what it is exactly.

My question is this: What is the proper way to dispose of the gunpowder from the old ammo? Not really looking for a lot of smart answers, just wondering what the proper way to safely dispose of it would be.

Looks like the consensus is to burn it. Looks like I will be having some fun.

The reason I would consider taking apart some of the rounds is that I am concerned with the age of the ammo. I'd hate to get a bad round that would screw up the most expensive gun in my safe.
