do all police LIE ?

we have a lady police officer in our sunday school class and today she said one of the tricks they do to people is after they are done looking up someones license they will say ok have a good day and start to walk away then say to the person can i search your car for child porn we have found a lot of it in this area and i just need to check and make sure you don,t have any, is it ok for me to search your car for it? then she said most people don,t think nothing of it and say yes, then they search and find a pound of pot or something and make a bust. she said it was one of the tricks they do. i thought trick my foot that is a bald face LIE, i was shocked to hear this from someone that is suppose to know that lying is a sin.

She was looking for child porn, and anything else. So, not a lie... BUT WRONG.
I will never consent to a search EVER! Period. Get a warrant.

Personally, I think it is just an accepted practice in our society, not just the police. That particular lie is just a way to get someone to waive their personal rights. Of course, many people today would say, if you have nothing to hide.......... etc..

I've had an officer tell me that smoking a cigarette during a traffic stop meant I thought it would be my last and that I had something to hide. Followed by questions of recreational marijuana use and illegal bombs or grenades.

When asked if ok if they went through my vehicle to search I smiled and said, I'd like to be on my way.

Officer then went on to write me a ticket and say its just our training that links smoking tobacco during a traffic stop to other illegal activities.

That must be a lie, if it isn't then shame on those who teach and practice that kind of bull****.

Not all of them lie. There are still quiet a few that don't lie but they are usually the ones that think the law is black and white.
