Do your part to educate and convert!

We have a cabin with a good bit of acreage in middle GA. We have owned it for 12 years. My boys have brought countless friends down over the years. Each boy that came down I would talk to a parent prior.. ( Always seemed to be the Mom?).. I would explain we would be shooting guns and riding 4 wheelers... Everyone would freak out... I would patiently explain the supervision and hands on they would get on both. By the end of the weekend those boys would beg to come back! Most of them have..
All have the love of hunting and plinking...

I took a couple to the range today to teach basic SD with a handgun. The wife was very nervous and frightened of the weapon. Within a few hours she was clearly having a great time and was in friendly competition with her husband. Though she retained proper respect for the handgun she no longer feared it at all. Then I pulled out the AR15 just for some fun at the end of the day.

I thought she might faint! All of her fear and nervousness returned 3 fold. She was asking all of the classic anti-gun propaganda questions. "Why would anyone need one of these for self defense?" "It just looks evil and scary."

We had a conversation, I got her to shoot it and after a few mags, I asked if she would prefer the handgun or the AR to protect her home and children. By the time we were done she was asking what would be a reasonable cost for an AR.

Don't write someone off just because they have fallen for the left's BS. Educate!
I've had some good experiences converting folks to our side too. If you can get them past their initial fear of the weapon and educate them on exactly why the 2nd Amendment was put into The Bill of Rights most will start to understand. Then, if you can get them to the range to actually do some shooting, that's when they realize how wrong they've been all along and want help deciding what type of weapon is best for their needs. Good on you Bear44 Bear44 .

Good for you, Bear.

I was in a non heated debate with a gay guy the other day about firearms. I have known him for about 10 years and he believes all the propaganda. Anyway, his partner is definitely conservative minded so I was glad when he joined the conversation because he was more receptive to my point of view. After a few minutes of re-educating them, I gladly offered up my time, guns and ammo so that they could learn more. They haven't committed to go yet, but I think they will. They were certainly more open to the idea afterwards. I told them my offer stands. I'm a country as cornbread **** kicker in their minds, and they are city dwelling libtards in my mind, but I am more than willing to help them on board any way I can. If for no other reason, it really pisses off other liberals.

Remind them of Omar Mateen in Orlando. I'm sure a ton of gay folks that night wished they had a gun.

One of my strong points. This conversation has been ongoing for a while, ever since this particular incident, in fact.
