just wondering because it felt like I stepped back in time. right away, I noticed a customer gave me the evil eye stare. I saw an associate clear away a table earlier. Later, as I was throwing away my tray, an associate yelled out for us to clear away the rest of the table (only so much I could carry at the time). I'm asian and I am perfectly OK if your place caters to a certain crowd, I just need to know so I can avoid it, forever... it's been like 10 years since I've been in 1.

Sorry you were bullied…as has been said, I would have dropped that tray right in front of the trash can and in a sad little voice said “oops”.

I’ve been in restaurants where I’ve had terrible/rude servers where I was clearly the minority ethnicity and didn’t think that it was because of my race. I just assumed they were asshats. Not sure why the race card was automatically dropped because of rude staff. I’ll send you my white-privilege card for you to use. Hope you have better luck with it than I have.

Well, Susie Sunshine, I can guarantee there are folks out there that will hate you for being white, and if you don’t believe it, you’d be better off without that card.
Then, when you’re facing a beatdown ‘cause your skin color isn’t correct for the area, you can explain that you identify as their race.

I’m sure there are people who do hate me because I’m white. I’m just saying - why is it that every time somebody is treated poorly, it’s always about because of their race?

Emotion and feelings can sometimes be your subconscious telling you that steak and shake sux...please don't choose to be a victim in life...its the same as not having one..hold your head up high..you're an American

VA...they hate old white guys.
Checking in lady is rude, hostile and disrespectful. Watched her after I got seated, she was just as nice as could be to the blacks checking in but treated every white in the same brusque manner.
It very much does matter to some people.
It shouldn't be that way but it just is and it's getting worse.
