I train my dogs not to eat a thing unless I expressly say "take it". Nothing worse than a theif dog. Cant take it anywhere. Begging is just them thinking they want to steal it but cant so they beg. If you turn your head the plate will get attacked. When I take my dog on a hiking trip, fishing, hunt camp, etc they wont take food laying out, they wont eat dead critters that will make them sick, they wont steal off kitchen counters, or eat dropped meds. Boundaries are not just to show dominance. They are for health, well being and the ability to have the dog around when you are doing fun stuff without it being an embarrassing pain in the butt.
