The red 4 is a special run group buy that ESEE only produced 50 of and they are extremely hard to come by. You will just have to get on the ESEE forum and keep an eye out. They rarely pop up and when they do you best hope your online. I have number 1 and tried to get number 50 as well but that guy is not selling.

Im after the Group buy Desert Tan 6 at the moment and can't seem to find one of those either.

Hell yea, that means my knife is fairly close to coming home.

Snakedoc over on the ESEE forum did a little jimping for me on my Candiru. He does excellent work.

The logos were also etched and blued and the scales have now been RIT dyed as well. I need to get new pictures.

did a little scale work on my Laser Strike…previous owner partially stripped the blade BEFORE etching the logos….so I did a Forced Patina using mustard and tried to create a Topo Map look…

These sure are handy.
Couldn't decide on color so just got both.

Been using these Eskabars pictured above quite a bit the last few weeks. I tried an Izula II but the blade length was just too short (for my tastes). Plus I just don't care for the way the coating impedes the blades passage through materials. I know they are nice knives and a favorite among many... just not for me.
I've found that a blade length of 3 1/4" to 4 1/2" or a bit more are the "sweet spot" for the majority of tasks that I use one for.

The blade length & shape of these Eskabars are so versatile. When choking up it feels like an extension of your index finger.
I've used them for sectioning "an apple a day" for several weeks, trimming the fat off of various meats at dinner, opened a can (just to test the blades' edge for brittleness & edge retention), opening those frustrating "adult-proof" blister packages, made a featherstick, batoned some kindling, opening taped ammo boxes, prying stuck .22 shells out of pistol chambers at the range, & numerous other tasks.

At $45 or thereabouts for the D2 version, its a low cost addition to a B.OB. & if they get broken or lost it's not the end of the world.
Plus at that price it only takes a minimum investment to try one out.
