I just don't see the whole "he failed to think clearly" as a valid excuse. If you carry a gun you are responsible for making clear-headed decisions with it, which this guy failed miserably at. If you don't think you can do it (and this isn't directed at you in particular), then either get the necessary training or get a different tool.

I had a friend in High School that father walked in on my friend's sister(17yrs old) and boyfriend in bed. The father shot the BF because he thought his daughter was being attacked.... I don't remember much of the details except that he only got 5 years for killing the BF.
