Why does anyone mention 1911 and the puny 9mm in the same sentence?

Springfield has some 9mm 1911s under $1k I think. I've really come to like the 9mm commander-size 1911.

Georgia firing line use to have a decent 1911 collection.

Cherokee gun and Pawn had a few 1911's about a week ago.
