edelbrocks are for the guy that has a stocker that wants shine on the motor vs actual performance but beware they run rich as hell out of the box and most have to be tuned in for specific applications..

Yep. Edelbrock is easy and pretty, but not efficient. Holley for performance, q-jet for all around daily driving. Q-jets get a bad rap for being finicky, but for all around fuel economy and performance there isn't a better option.

Holley for the simplicity when it comes time for a kit. Quadrajet for the sound. Edelbrock for the looks.

When you go to the car shows you see a lot of Edelbrocks. When you go to the race track you'll see a lot of Holleys and QuickFuels. When you look under the hood of a conversion van, you should see a Q-jet.

**Edit** When you look under the center console of a conversion van you should see a Quadrajet.

the thing with a quadrajet is having enough motor to open the secondaries and moo at the guy next to you!

I have a Q-jet that I no longer need. If I recall correctly it was from a Cadillac 472. I was running it on a mildly built Olds 425.
