First time rust bluing.

I used Cold Steel tomahawk as guinea pig. Original finish didn't impress me plus needed something to experiment on.

Also refinished the handle.

I did enjoy rust bluing.

Sauce....what rusting agent was wiped onto the steel. Nitric acid, tincture of iodine, salt water, rendered fat from salted pork, vinegar, Pilkingtons rust blue, Laurel Mountain Forge Brown, Dicropan IM, Mark Lee Express....Sauce.
