I know this has been discussed and discussed, but from a prepper's perspective, if you could have only 5 guns to get you through an extended event, what would they be and why?

Why five? Extended how? In home, away? At camp?
Get you a rifle that shoots both shotgun and rifle ammo
A 22 can carry a ****load of ammo
Take a handgun that you can shoot well.
If at home, we’ll, just say that’s uo too you wallet and your spouse

Glock 19
WWSD AR15 w/ 22 conversion/suppressed
S&W M&P 22c threaded/suppressed
Mossberg JM Pro 24" 12 gauge
S&W M&P10 sport w/ freefloat handguard
Gives you two pistols (one nearly silent and good for small game), two fighting rifles which can both take medium sized game also, and a semi 12 gauge for winged or other game or close up defense. You also have the ability to reach out with the 308 if needed.
You could drop the 12 gauge for another quality AR15 or Glock 19 depending on how many you are equipping.

3) 12 Gauge pump shotgun like a Mossberg 590 - Wide range of ammo
4) 22lr Rifle - Either bolt or semi
5) 308 Rifle - Maybe a scoped AR10
I noticed that I didn't select any of my personal favorites for this exercise - no 10mm, or 44mag, or 357mag, or 22 revolver, or 1911's.

These are the Five I would have, nothing special just common sense. Covers the basics and no specific models except AR/AK.
