Florida has put BLM and Antifa on notice.

Yes you can. Crossing state lines to carry out a pre meditated crime is a FEDERAL OFFENSE.

But these are laws the GOVERNOR of FL is talking about imposing as STATE OFFENSES.

And even federal law cannot impose stiffer penalties on a GA resident than a FL resident for the same offense. Crossing state lines to commit the crime may be a (federal) offense, but the crime there is crossing the state line, not being a resident of a different state. Again, though, that only is a matter of federal law. FL can't do that.

If they ADD crossing the state line to existing charges, they can do that.

Congress has exclusive authority to regulate interstate commerce. FL can punish crimes that occur within its borders, but it cannot punish crossing state lines.

Since tourists are their biggest resource, can't they pass a "hostile tourist" law, statute or resolution??? (10% serious question) :)

Didya notice there wasn't a single black face behind the Gov? Latino, male and female white people, but not a single black Chief in FL who'd stand with them for law and order? You know the Gov's people woulda pushed one of the guys that looks like he belongs at an ODT meet and greet aside for a black Chief of a larger town or city. I know there were other participants off camera. Perhaps they were all over there?

Get over yourself this needs to be done. There are people that travel from out of state with the sole purpose of jacking up the riots and getting people worked up into a frenzy. This type of behavior should not be tolerated and dealt with in the harshest way possible in accordance with the law, and if that means adding new laws to the books then so be it. Maybe you're sympathizing with the rioters because you are one of them.

It'll be interesting to see what parts of this bill get cut out.

The violence parts will probably be fine, but the 'harassment' stuff will never pass muster in court. Too many 1A issues.
