What length fly rod do you like on small creeks? I just use my 8’6 or 9’ foot rods. Was wondering how a 7’6 or maybe shorter would do.

Another good rod is the tenkara. It's rod without a reel. The line is attached to the tip. I nailknot a piece of 10lb test to the line then blood knot 2-4lb test to that. It's a lot of fun for smaller fish, even though I watched a guy land a 20" rainbow with 1 on the Hooch 1 day.

Sorry for the crappy pic, it isn't easy to photog a 6' rod.

Well I fell into a vintage Orvis 6wt 9ft Rocky Mountain Series Fly rod paired with a Madison III made in England reel recently. It fishes like a son of a gun. I had her out for 20 mins today. Caught 1. ( i completely re-did the reel with 6wt line and 30lb backing, I took it apart and cleaned the heck out of it. Works great)

Just hit the delayed harvest on Big Snowbird creek last weekend, had an extremely successful day. The water is pretty active with fishermen but they have stocked a ton of trout in the area.

I don't take pictures of many, I usually like to get them released pretty quick. Lots of typical stock size western brook trout, with a decent number of browns and rainbows thrown in. They were hitting squirmies and mops all day on euronymphing rigs.
