Woof. And I like ketchup......Saw someone put ketchup in their grits once. I never forgave them for it.
Sugar. And my wife is a southern girl.....Holy crap! I thought the Sweet 'n Low and coffee creamers in grits (old Yankee boss) was the lowest of the low.

Dems fighten words......Heard a guy complaining at Aunt Annie’s about too much butter AND SALT on their pretzel.
That’s the only time I’ve ever needed to draw my weapon.
And this coming from you........Worked with a guy that would order eggs over easy and hash browns for breakfast.
When it came, he'd put catsup on the hash browns and yellow mustard on the eggs.
Then he'd take his knife and fork, cut the eggs up, and mix it all together into a disgusting slurry.
I quit going to breakfast with him....
NO!!!!I'd skip the mustard, but the rest sounds pretty good.
Ketchup is a first rate breakfast condiment.
You need a new SIL and send him back to AL.........My son in law goes to breakfast with us and orders Eggs, Bacon and hash browns. After it arrives he pours maple syrup over the entire mess thick and gobbles it down, adding sweet tea to help with the process!
Diabetics nightmare!!
Also, he is from Alabama, and hates grits!! Go figure!!
Instant grits, your flavor choosing. 1/2 cup of water. Stir and place in microwave for 1:15. Stir again, let sit to cool. Perfect every time.....I love grits but still ain't mastered making them correctly. Mine get pretty thick in no time. So I add water and yes, MORE butter and they're the right consistency for a few minutes. But then they go right back to thick and lumpy. I think it's the inconsistent low heat from my electric stove. But my wife makes them correctly on the same stove so...
We both grew up on electric. Then moved to a house with gas. Used it for 35yrs. Now we're back to electric in our current home. If I had my way, we'd have both. In the same kitchenI can't cook on an electric stove, can't maintain a steady temperature.
When we moved here a few years back, there was a brand new state-of-the-art electric cook top.
After about a week of trying to cook on that thing, I ripped it out and switched to gas. So much happier.
Plus, when there's the next 3+ day power failure, we can still cook, and most importantly, brew coffee.
And yes, I do have a small generator, but it's just to intermittently power the fridge, tv, and cable box.
