Gander Mountain readying for bankruptcy...

Their customer service stunk at the ones in Huntsville and Fayetteville, I walked into the one here in Snellville and was out within 5 minutes. I hate to see a company go out of business because employees have bills but oh well

I worked on the crew that opened the store in Lawrenceville. I was in the Hunting/Shooting department. I quit the week the store opened.

They had assembled a group of men and women who were highly experienced in their particular type of shooting. Skeet/Trap, hunting, tactical, you name it.
And I really doubt that any of the original group of us are still working there. The "training manager" used to brag about how often she got people fired. She and a couple other "trainers" were rumored to be skimming commissions off some of the people who stayed longer than I did.
They brought in managers from other stores and they treated all of us (all part timers, with careers or retired from careers) like complete morons.
Whatever they have left working in that store now are "smiling faces" and "great personalities".

Eff Them.
they aint got much working there at all.

I haven't been there since I quit.
I had a list of things I wanted to get direct from the manufacturers, which were discounted rather nicely, but it wasn't worth hanging around to do that.

If they have a "Going out of Business Sale", I'll go back and see what they have, mainly to laugh at the GM and the other managers there.

I don't understand the need to attend a brick and mortar store
To look at something in person to be sure you want it before you order it online.

I doubt that the VP in charge of close-out pricing would be willing to give up that much margin just because they are going out of business. :suspicious:
Bahahaha! That's probably about right!
