I try to run my genny about every 6 months. That has seemed to work fairly well for me over the years. Let it come up to temperature and run for about 20 minutes.
Yeah, I need to drag mine out and fire it off/service it ….put a little gas in it and run it a few mins then drain her back down and cover it back up. Make sure it’s ready.
I usually keep a 5 gal can of gas beside it and rotate it out every couple of months at the most. A majority of the time it’s once a month.

Mine can run my downstairs of my home. Tv , lights , fridge , etc. keep it running if needed . All my unprepared neighbors will be crying if the power goes out .
Mine’s been sitting idle a year and a half. Had run it dry when moving.
Today, checked oil, gassed it up, cranked and ran perfectly on second pull.

A hard lesson I learned a few years back after letting mine sit unused for about 6 months full of ethanol blend.
It was like the carb and fuel line were packed with Jello.
