Georgia Militias

There should be a ODT militia. We could just openly wear camo, talk about guns and drink beer with no effort to train at all. Every M&G could be a meeting where dues are taken up to supply booze to the next meet.
Mmm Beer? You're in :becky:

It's settled then. ODT militia to talk about guns and drink beer (with absolutely no physical exertion, this is very important). When are we meeting?

I thought we had one? Aren't the M&G the monthly meetings?:)

I had some of those yahoos come into the gun shop in Panama City back in the early 90's when Clinton was President with one carrying a Tapco'd out SKS "sniper" rifle. They were trying to recruit "Patriots that's gonna take down the government'" but they were all about 300 pounds, with beer bellies ( must of made their camo out of ponchos) obviously zero prior military training and more chins than a Hong Kong phone book. I told them I bet they wouldn't last a weekend and that just after supper time on saturday night they would have to "Stop the war" while they waddled their fat asses to the nearest buffet. They got all huffy and stormed out after the owner and I started laughing at them and asked which one was Pvt. Pyle. My advice. Stay far, far away!

So I've been doing some digging, out of curiosity more than anything. Are these GA militias that have websites and all that (gamilitia.com) legit? As a naturally pessimistic person, I have my initial reactions, but I'm curious if any of you have ever engaged with one of those (we can talk through PM if you want), and if they have actually been of any benefit in the survival, training etc category.

I took a Prepping course with some of the Georgia members, in Winder. I liked them, but after reading there requirements of Taking a OATH I could Not do it, I took my Oath when I joined the military, not again. This is just me!!!!

I checked out a few, but most I talked to were wantabe warriors who want to play Rambo on the weekend with camping and march around with their Cammo on and playing Army. I never discussed my back ground or prior (Combat) but they tried to impress me with their Book & Film Knowledge. I did make a mental note when the SHTF, I would return, terminate and resupply. A nice Supply Depot LOL.. I'm sure somebody out there is legit, just be choosy :thumb:
I'll battle buddy you on resupply
