Yeah, the Dragon has too many people there because they "heard that its cool" and they don't have the common sense or skillset to handle it, plus then you have all the cars, the trucks that aren't supposed to be on that road and ignored all the signs, the high police presence, etc...
It's just not all that much fun unless you luck out and have it to yourself, which is rarely the case.
And to me, yes it is very technical, but it's also a very slow and boring road...
Cherahola is much faster, more flowing... you can be leaned over at 90mph in a 45mph turn and really enjoy it, and it goes on for like 45 miles, and the views are better, etc...
