Giraud case trimmer

Here's a question to be answered in making any choice; if the unit cannot do the following as well as trimming the case ... you will still be stuck with the same amount of work and time!

the winner would be the one that comes up with a carbide cutter that would trim, bevel, and deburr all in one

I know that the Giraud, RCBS, and Gracey will do this ^^^^^^

This looks like it may have some promise. I think it's due out this July. Die mounted, trims, chamfers inside and outside case necks. I plan on mounting the die and cutter into an old broken Lee C frame press of mine and mortorizing it. Make it a dedicated trimming press. Perhaps weld some round stock to the center of the cutter shaft and chucking it up in my drill press.

No word on price yet but you all know Lee's value for their products. Might be worth a try. More info at https://fsreloading.com/notes-from-greg/lee-precision-new-for-2013.html

actually the Dillon does such a good job on 223 that I don't chamfer or debur AND it's a sizing die at the same time

not had a problem with this at all

Here's my trimmer setup, A RCBS with the three-way cutter (now in carbide), with the auto shell holder powered by a cheap 1/2" drill motor.

In the picture the case is from when I was making a batch of 300 Blackout brass.

Not sure what the $$$ outlay is but I'd say it's worth it if you need to crank out large quantities of precisely cut brass.

If your time is important to you buy one. One thing I can't stand is trimming de-burring cases (rifle). I also have the case annealer too. Quality is top notch and everything is hand built. Yeah it's expensive, but you get what you pay for.

I have used Danny at Custom Brass Processing to do several thousand 223 cases. He does a fine job. Cleaned, sized, trimmed, deburred, and primer crimp removed. It was well worth it.
