I see what your saying about taping pliers, but the tool is like $5-$10. It's a worth while purchase, even if you only build a few lowers. I promise, it a 100x easier to assemble with it.

Oh I definitely believe it I'm going to get one for my next project. I built my first lower without a vise and improvised that front takedown which took 3 times longer than the rest of parts combined, then it went flying across the room and I didn't find it for weeks.
